Automatic guest door codes from your bookings

Typing a fresh PIN into a keypad for every arrival (and remembering to remove it after) doesn't scale. Here's how to make each booking generate, send and expire its own door code with no manual steps.

The problem with doing it by hand

Manual codes eat time and leak access. You have to create a PIN for each guest, message it to them, remember to remove it at check-out, and hope you didn't fat-finger a digit. Multiply that across a handful of units and a busy season, and something eventually slips: an old code that still works, or a guest locked out at midnight.

Automating it removes the human step entirely: the booking is the trigger, and everything else follows from it.

How the automation works

  1. Connect the booking source. Link Rentlio directly, or paste the iCal calendar link from a Booking.com or Airbnb listing.
  2. A code is generated per booking. Each reservation becomes a unique PIN, valid exactly from check-in to check-out.
  3. It's sent on your schedule. By email or WhatsApp, branded as your property, for example 24 hours before arrival.
  4. It's revoked at check-out. When the stay ends the code stops working; a cancellation revokes it early.

Every channel, one flow

  • Rentlio: a direct integration; reservations sync straight through to codes.
  • Booking.com & Airbnb: paste the listing's iCal link; no PMS or channel manager needed.
  • WhatsApp & email: the guest gets the code on the channel they actually read, with delivery confirmation on WhatsApp.

Booking changes handle themselves

Reservations move. When dates change, the code's validity window shifts with them; when a booking is cancelled, its code is revoked. You don't chase any of it. The code always matches the current state of the booking, so there's never leftover access after a guest leaves.

Branded, and paired with a guest page

Codes go out in your colours and sender name, not a generic system message. Each one links to the guest's own stay page (how to open the door, Wi-Fi, house rules and your contact), so arrival questions largely answer themselves. See how this powers keyless self check-in.

Automate codes for every booking

Connect Rentlio or a calendar link and let each reservation send its own PIN.

Frequently asked

Which booking systems does it work with?

Rentlio directly, and any channel that publishes an iCal calendar, including Booking.com and Airbnb listings. Paste the calendar link and reservations turn into codes with no PMS required.

When is the code sent to the guest?

On the schedule you set, for example 24 hours before arrival at 9:00. It goes out by email or WhatsApp (with delivery confirmation), branded as your property.

What happens if a booking is cancelled or changed?

The code follows the booking. A cancelled reservation revokes its code, and changed dates shift the validity window automatically, so there's never leftover access.

Is the same code reused between guests?

No. Each booking gets its own PIN, valid only from check-in to check-out. When the stay ends the code stops working.
