The doors keep working. Codes, cards and faces are written into the device itself, so people still get in without a connection. Portir warns you the site is offline and re-syncs automatically as soon as the link is back.

No. Portir is a web app (PWA). Open it in a browser and add it to your home screen; it runs full-screen, with notifications, on iPhone and Android.
Your data is on servers in the EU. Device credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, face photos are kept separately and under your control, and every organization is strictly isolated.
